Our Story

We started ASKK in late 2017 with one mission: to make simple clothes you can make yours. We are longtime colleagues, turned long-term friends. We love clothes (especially denim), but were bored with the current atmosphere of fashion; chasing trends and forgetting about making core pieces that live in a wardrobe forever. 

When creating ASKK, we felt strongly about 3 things:

Using the best fabrics (we use mostly Japanese)

Producing in LA

Designing clothes for everybody and every body (we aren’t quite there yet, but we are working on it, we promise!)

 

Our clothes are REAL NOT RADICAL.  We want to give you your core. If you want to go match our jeans with some crazy fashion, cool.  If you want to wear a jean and T, cool.  Make it yours - that’s what’s most important to us.

 

We don’t like to talk about ourselves, but to give you some confidence in our brand, here’s a little history…

Katrina is somewhat of a denim expert.  She started her career at J Brand as its very first employee, helping to create and launch what has become one of the most relevant denim brands.  After J Brand, she moved onto Rag & Bone as the first denim designer (yep!).  There, she helped to launch and build its denim category, which is a cornerstone of the brand’s business, and some of the most iconic jeans out there today.

Andrea has always had a focus on the consumer and what she wants.  She has never been driven by runway shows or trends.  She wants to listen to the consumer and make clothes they genuinely want to wear.  She also has over 17 years of experience on the business side of fashion, namely launching the Rag & Bone direct to consumer business and working with brands such as Paul Smith and Salvatore Ferragamo. 

We are people just like you, looking for something simple: a place to buy beautiful, easy and well-made pieces you can make your own.

Starting a company comes with its challenges – to say the least – but we are so proud of ASKK and each order that goes out, knowing we’ve reached one more person who gets it.
